Accountable Harvey

Accountability means more than publishing a budget. It means explaining spending, documenting decisions, responding to audit concerns and reporting whether plans are on track.

The Challenge

Residents need everyday accountability connected to the long-term work of strengthening the city: who is responsible, what action is being taken, and when an update can be expected.

Why It Matters

A government that answers to its residents must be willing to explain both its progress and its challenges, in plain language, with regular updates residents can follow.

Colby's Position

I will advocate for plain-language financial updates, regular comparisons of budgeted and actual results, clear project reporting and accessible opportunities for residents to participate.

Proposed Approach

Responsible spending, documented oversight, regular communication and a consistent process for following up on resident concerns.

What Success Looks Like

An Accountable Harvey where residents can follow financial performance, understand decisions, and see a consistent process for following up on neighborhood concerns.

My Priorities

  • Responsible spending
